Once a taxpayer files his Income Tax Return the next thing they need to do is, verify their Income Tax Return. The taxpayer can either E-verify Income Tax Return or manually verify Income Tax Return by sending the copy of ITR-V to CPC Bangalore, but a taxpayer must verify their Income Tax Return within 120 days of filing it, otherwise the ITR will be considered invalid and the assessee will have file their ITR again.
There are several ways by which you can E-verify Income Tax Return: –
- E-verification via generating Aadhaar OTP
- E-verification via net banking
- Online verification via EVC
Steps to E-verify the Income Tax Return
Login to the Income Tax Department’s official e-filing portal
Click on the option that says “View Returns/ Forms”
Select the option “Click here to view your returns pending for e-verification”
Select the option ‘e-verify’.
Once you click on the e-verify option, there will a list of modes through which you can generate an EVC. You need to select the option that suits you the best.
After successfully generating the EVC through the desired mode, enter the EVC and click on submit button.
A confirmation message will be displayed on the screen with a transaction ID and EVC code. Click on the green button to download the attachment.
